New Episode Alert: Love Letters 2 Our Bodies Podcast

We are beyond honored to share our latest episode featuring Melissa Christie, Director of Wellness Programs at Unite for HER, a remarkable nonprofit organization founded by Sue Weldon in 2009 who sought complementary therapies for support after being diagnosed with breast cancer.  The organization is dedicated to supporting breast and ovarian cancer patients through their healing journeys. Their goal is to see that every person with breast and ovarian cancers will feel the support of a loving community, and will have access to comprehensive education, services, and tools that enrich their health and well-being.

About Our Guest

Melissa Christie brings passion, expertise, and deep compassion to her role at Unite for HER, where she oversees wellness programs that provide integrative therapies, education, and support services at no personal cost to patients. Her work is particularly focused on ensuring that women of color and low-income individuals have access to the holistic healing resources they deserve during one of life's most challenging experiences.

What We Explored Together

In this heartfelt conversation, Melissa and I dove deep into topics that are at the very core of our podcast's mission:

The Journey Back to Self-Love: We explored how women can rebuild their relationship with their bodies during and after cancer treatment, embracing both vulnerability and strength in the healing process.

Integrative Wellness as Medicine: Melissa shared insights into how complementary therapies—from massage and acupuncture to nutritional counseling and emotional support—work alongside traditional medical treatment to support whole-person healing.

Breaking Down Barriers: We discussed the critical importance of making wellness accessible to all women, regardless of their economic circumstances or background, and how Unite for Her is working to address systemic inequities in healthcare.

Practical Wisdom for Everyday Healing: Our conversation was filled with actionable advice for anyone navigating health challenges, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking to deepen their self-care practice.

Why This Conversation Matters

At Moyo Institute, Inc., we believe that every woman deserves to feel whole, supported, and deeply loved—especially during times when her body feels foreign or challenging. Melissa's approach to work exemplifies this belief in action, creating spaces where women can access not just medical care, but true healing that honors the mind, body, and spirit.

This episode is for anyone who:

• Is navigating their own health journey

• Supports someone facing serious illness

• Believes in the power of integrative wellness

• Advocates for healthcare equity and access

• Wants to learn about practical tools for self-compassion and healing

A Message of Hope

What struck me most about our conversation was Melissa's unwavering belief in the body's capacity for healing and the human spirit's resilience. Even in the face of serious illness, there are pathways to wellness, community, and self-love that can transform not just how we heal, but how we live.
