Love Letters to Our Bodies: Day of Renewal Wellness Summit — Recap

On Friday, July 17, 2026, Moyo Institute welcomed African American women to The Center for Healthy Communities in Oakland for a day of rest, healing, and community. Guests moved through a rotation of wellness offerings — Reiki, ear seeds (acupressure), EFT tapping, and chair massage — and celebrated our Dynamic Sisters honorees: Jackie Mungo, Juanita Waugh, and Melodie Johnson.

The day was made possible in partnership with Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, East Bay Healing House, and BLACC (Black Ladies Advocating for Cancer Care), with generous support from the Lloyd Symington Foundation, Red Oak Opportunity Foundation, and Kaiser Permanente. The event was also honored with a proclamation from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.

Browse the photos and videos below to relive the day.
